About Ed Nailor
I am the Senior Web Developer for a creative marketing firm in Charlotte, NC, a “behind the scenes” creative agency working with national brands and marketing groups to fulfill their collateral and interactive creative needs. I oversee the production of all websites developed for our clients. I also provide communications and sales support for our clients as needed.
But that is just my professional life… I am also a husband, father, entrepreneur, drummer, rafter, conservative… and so much more. Of course I could go on, but that would be a little self absorbed, don’t you think? But then again, it is my website and even bears my name! So I guess I can go on if I decide to… LOL
Actually, let me give you a little history on the website and where I think it is headed now. Several years ago I took a job as a mortgage loan originator. In other words, I got paid a commission on every mortgage loan I made happen. (That sounds so bad nowadays, after all the mortgage crisis of 2007-2009, but it is what it is.) In order to help generate more potential business, I decided I needed to have a website. After getting quotes beyond what I could afford, I set out to build it myself. After much trial and error, I was able to create a great website and learned how to get it to the top of the search engines. In fact, I enjoyed that much more than the mortgage business… so when the mortgage business crashed, I finally decided to make a move and do what I like.
In addition to my current role, I have also been working as a freelance website developer / designer since 2008. I have helped others develop their SEO strategy for top search engine rankings. However, in doing this,my goal was to still maintain my mortgage website and develop leads that I could send to others for a small fee. That never really panned out, s0 I have since then moved the mortgage information OFF of EdNailor.com, and have decided to make this website more about me than a particular job.
Not to be narcissistic by any means. I just figure that if it is about me, my thoughts, opinions and experiences, maybe others may learn from my mistakes or share with me that I may learn as well. If it is stuck on one particular business (such as mortgages) then my name is stuck and I can’t be flexible in what I discuss.
What to Expect Here…
Well, really anything. I will talk about web design for sure, most likely some family stuff, ideas and strategies for business and life, and yes… even politics and religion! I welcome conversation from anyone, so long as it is constructive and not in pure mean spirit (or spam!) So if you read something here that you like, or even disagree with, speak up! Let me know… with good conversation, we can all grow. Besides, thoughts, convictions and faith without a challenge is just easy. So let me know what you think…
